Are you interested in volunteering? The success of the 2025 AAC BC/VI/YK Regional Championships will depend to a large degree on the volunteers. We will need assistance in a variety of areas and are looking for people with all levels of experience. If you have a spouse or family member who would be willing to assist, please encourage them to help out at the event.

THUNDERBIRD EQUESTRIAN SHOW PARK RV’ing (ONSITE)

There are 45 RV spots, some with water and electricity and some with sewer. T-Bird has modified several of the spots, adding sewer hookups.

THREE NIGHT MINIMUM FEE $195

T-Bird used to allow us to pay per night, but it now applies the same policy/pricing to all event hosts—you must pay for three nights even if you are only there for one or two nights!

Reservations for RV spots will open at 7:00 PM, February 22nd, 2025, using a separate form for RV Registration. Competitors and volunteers will have until April 18, 2025, to register for an RV spot. We will notify you of your RV placement spot on June 3, 2025.

Currently, T-bird has allocated 45 RV spots for Regionals. T-Bird will confirm if there will be additional RV spots available by May 23, 2025. If all 45 RV spots have been allocated before May 23rd, and we are unable to obtain additional spots, the last-in registrants will be informed that there are no remaining RV spots, and a refund will be issued. However, if we do get additional RV spots, we will allocate the additional spots based on the order of priority and time/date of RV registration until all spots have been assigned. If a registrant is not assigned an RV spot and is still interested, we can place them on a waitlist in the event there are cancellations. (T-bird will do their best to have all the spots available).

Important Note: Self-contained RV parking is no longer allowed (imposed by the Township of Langley), so it is very possible there will not be enough full-service spots. To make it as fair as possible, RVs will be allocated based on the following order of priority:

  1. Organizers/Judges
  2. Competitors travelling from outside the Lower Mainland
  3. Volunteers traveling from outside the Lower Mainland***(LIMITED!)
  4. Competitors residing inside the Lower Mainland

Placement/requests for the RV spots will be based on the time/date of RV registration.

For example, RV registration from an island competitor arrives March 2; RV registration from a Surrey competitor arrives March 1. The Island competitor will be given an RV spot over the Surrey competitor, BUT if there is room for both RVs, the Surrey competitor will be placed first (this will make a difference for nearer locations to rings and spots with sewer hookups).

You may request placement near a friend, but again, placement will depend on the date of RV registration (and the size of the rig – some very large RVs can only be placed in certain locations) – it is strongly suggested, to avoid disappointment, you and your friend(s) register at approximately the same time – then send a request to [email protected]. No guarantees, but we will do our best.

***Volunteers travelling from outside the Lower Mainland: RV placement priority will be given to competitors traveling from outside the Lower Mainland, regardless of the date/time of your registration. The number of spots available to volunteers travelling from outside the Lower Mainland will be reviewed based on need. We value our volunteers, but competitors travelling with dogs must be a priority, as accommodations for multiple dogs are not plentiful.

All spots have available wifi connections. Thunderbird also has washrooms, showers, and laundry facilities available.

RATES: Three-night minimum $195

Additional nights will be charged a rate of $65/per day. The septic site may be available for $75/per stay. If you need a pump out, the cost will be $50. We will need to know by Thursday, June 5 if this is required.

CAMPING:

Unfortunately, Thunderbird does not permit on-site tenting, but it does recommend the Brae Island (Fort Langley) campsite, which is about 10 minutes away.
