Tanya Wyss
Tanya moved to Canada from the US in 1998, after serving in the US Air Force. She currently shares her life with her wife Shelley and 4 dogs – 3 PONs, Takoda, Wyatt and Rysy and Terrier cross, Kayden.
She began her agility career in 2008 with her Lhasa/ Maltese, Codi and never looked back. Codi and Tanya learned and grew in agility together and placed 8th in the 2015 AAC Nationals. Codi loved life and did everything with so much enthusiasm and a big smile.
In 2012, Tanya adopted Kayden (a Terrier cross) and they quickly became perfect partners. Together, they have achieved many agility milestones. Kayden is the 2022 and 2024 8”DD Vet AAC Regionals Champion and also received his Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. They continue to compete and enjoy every moment playing together.
Tanya is currently training and competing with her 3 year old Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Wyatt. Wyatt is incredibly shy, but agility has been instrumental in helping him build confidence. Tanya and Wyatt competed in their first AAC Regionals (2024) and he handled his first big event like a pro. They continue to grow as a team and Tanya looks forward to an exciting career.
Tanya and her boys also train and compete in Canine Nosework. Outside of dog sports, they also enjoy long walks, swimming, and chasing a ball or tugger. There is never a dull day in our house and we love every minute.
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live.
